Indiana university Bike to Uganda details

Building Tomorrow @ IU's fifth annual Bike to Uganda is coming up! Bike to Uganda is a campus-wide effort to bike the 7,000 miles from Bloomington to Kampala, Uganda on stationary bikes. We will be biking by the Woodburn clock tower April 13th-15th, so grab some friends and come get some exercise while also supporting a great cause! Individuals can bike for just $5 or alternatively, groups can sponsor a time slot for $50. We will also have sponsoring Little 500 teams competing to see who is able to bike the most miles during their time slot! (Contact akrach@indiana.edu about sponsorship or competing with your team!) Through our unified effort, we can raise funds to ensure that children in East Africa have access to the basic human right of education! Thanks for your support!

fundraising notes
  • We ask for a $5 donation from each biker to help us reach our fundraising goal!
  • Just $15 allows you to bike and receive a t-shirt (don't forget to indicate your size on the registration page).
  • Just $5 will buy 50 bricks in Uganda. But we need a lot of bricks to build a school, so we encourage everyone interested in our cause to raise more.
  • Take a moment to set up your own fundraising webpage at iam.buildingtomorrow.org. Then ask around for donations to sponsor your participation in Bike to Uganda!

NOTE A common misconception about Bike to Uganda is that biking alone raises money...it only does if you help us with the fundraising. Think of it as any other race, run, walk, etc. where you have to pay to enter. And, how much is $5, really? One less Starbucks, basically! Thank you for understanding!

You will be prompted to pay your $5 registration fee with a credit card after signing up!

About Building Tomorrow
Building Tomorrow envisions a world where every child with a desire to learn has a safe, permanent and local place to do so.

Working towards this goal, we catalyze communities and individuals in support of access to quality education for students in East Africa by empowering young people to invest their time, talents and resources in support of new educational opportunities; facilitating the construction of community-built, locally-sustained primary schools; and building the human capacity and leadership of locally-based school management teams.
