Indiana University Bike to Uganda details
Bike to Uganda, our largest fundraising event of the year, is our challenge to the IU campus to bike the distance from Bloomington to Kampala, Uganda on stationary bikes. We will be biking from 9am-6pm at the Woodburn clock tower April 14-16. Bikers are asked to sign up for 30-minute slots and make a $5 minimum donation, with an additional $10 requested per t-shirt. Our fundraising goal is $5,000 and all the money raised goes directly to the construction of a school for children who otherwise might never have the opportunity to receive an education. Together we can help provide these children with the opportunity to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams!

Student organizations and Greek organizations have the opportunity to sponsor an entire time slot. In exchange for your commitment, your organization's name or logo will be featured on the event T-shirt and you will have access to a table during the event to advertise your organization. In addition, individuals and organizations can fundraise by establishing a page at iam.buildingtomorrow.org (details below!).

fundraising notes
  • We ask for a $5 donation from each biker to help us reach our fundraising goal!
  • Just $5 will buy 50 bricks in Uganda. But we need a lot of bricks to build a school, so we encourage everyone interested in our cause to raise more.
  • Take a moment to set up your own fundraising webpage at iam.buildingtomorrow.org. Then ask around for donations to sponsor your participation in Bike to Uganda!

NOTE A common misconception about Bike to Uganda is that biking alone raises money...it only does if you help us with the fundraising. Think of it as any other race, run, walk, etc. where you have to pay to enter. And, how much is $5, really? One less Starbucks, basically! Thank you for understanding!

You will be prompted to pay your $5 registration fee with a credit card after signing up!

About Building Tomorrow
Building Tomorrow empowers young people in the US to invest their resources, time & talents in providing students in East Africa with access to an education. Over the past five years, young people have raised over $600,000; empowering communities in Uganda to donate 35 acres of land and volunteer over 200,000 hours of labor to build schools for their children. To date, Building Tomorrow has opened ten primary-level academies in Uganda with another five currently under construction; each providing learning space for up to 325 students.
